THE TERRIFIC THYMUS THUMP

It’s great for your immunity, restores vitality and is the 3rd of Donna Eden's 4 thumps. Let's look at it more closely.

The Thymus itself is located about 2-3 inches below the collar bone, but the vibration of the tapping ripples out, so again, experiment with that whole upper chest area.

Until relatively recently the Thymus was thought to shrink after puberty and be of little use. It is absolutely true that the thymus is most active during childhood and adolescence. However, the medical profession now realise that it has a prominent role in supporting our immune response, throughout our lives, by producing white blood cells that not only distinguish inoffensive body cells from intruding pathogens but also fend the pathogens off. As such it is essential for fighting off infections and maintaining good immunity.

Over time, stress and aging can reduce the thymus gland's activity.

We naturally thump it when we are ‘shocked’. I remember seeing a very strange Japanese TV programme many years ago where they jumped out and surprised people and almost without exception people put their hand/s on their Thymus – the body naturally seeking a way to regain a sense of energetic balance and deal with the stress and shock.

Experiment with how you thump, have fun with it. For example …

Dr John Diamond, in his book about the Thymus suggests you ‘waltz’ your Thymus to the rhythm of 123 123

He also suggests that while you do this you look at something beautiful and smile to enhance endorphin production

You can thump it wildly like Tarzan and even create an ‘echo sound’ as you do it

You can tap it to the rhythm of your heart beat

You can tap in a figure 8 pattern over the area

Try all the above and any you can think of.

Be still after the thumping (need only be for 10/15 seconds) and inwardly observe how it affects your body – which one gets the most noticeably result? Are you a Tarzan Thumper or a graceful Thymus waltzer?

CONNECTING TO THE SOUL THROUGH THE THYMUS

Sometimes after my Thymus Thump I take a moment, especially when outside in Nature, to be still and immerse myself for a minute in the energy of GRATITUDE for all that I have in my life and I focus on connecting to the WISE ONE WITHIN, which in turn amplifies inner intuition and guidance. It opens the door to a powerful, divine energy. In turn this activates your healing ability, both for yourself and others.

If you hold your hands in a prayer position and place the thumbs against your chest you will be applying a light pressure over your Thymus gland and the higher heart chakra (located just above the usual heart chakra) and the ancients believed that this helped connect you to your very soul and draws in ‘divine’ energy.  It certainly puts you into a temporary state of energetic balance.

From a more spiritual perspective the higher heart chakra/thymus is often referred to as the ‘seat of the soul’ and the unconditional love – being balanced in this area aids our spiritual growth and transformation as we progress through life: it is the seat of your spiritual development.

Think of the phrases we use every day:  I love you with all my heart.

We give gifts ‘from the heart’

The Thymus responds well to vibration, so tapping either on the skin or ‘in the field’ over the gland will stimulate the area, as will sound – you can experiment with different sounds to see which feels as if it moves energy in this area – the deepness and reverberation of a drum or penetrating tone of a tuning form or a Tibetan bowl for an extra special vibration.

So whether you delicately waltz your Thymus, tap generally, tap in time with your heartbeat,  massage, spiral, figure 8 or thump like Tarzan – it doesn’t matter. Simply give your Thymus some attention every day and feel the balance begin to return to your energies and ultimately physical well-being, it can even help you push through on your spiritual growth.

Donna  suggests that the Thymus Thump also helps release emotional blocks, making it a useful tool for lifting your mood and promoting a positive outlook.

Working your thymus daily is one of the foundations of good energetic health and it’s SO EASY!

If you are a practitioner, a quick Thymus tap gets your client (and you) back into a temporary state of balance, ready for testing.

Because of this benefit, it’s also excellent to use when making an affirmation or positive statement/mantra. Why? Because a body in balance is far more open to suggestion.
