WORKING WITH YOUR 5TH CHAKRA

Here's a very simple technique that takes no time at all but can help a return to chakra energy balance. It focuses on the 5th chakra, also known as the throat Chakra.

  • Rub both hands together and shake off to get rid of any old, stale, tired energies.

  • Feet on the ground and feel that connection to the Earth

  • Smile

  • Slow breathing

  • bring both hands over the THROAT area

  • Say the following, or words of your choice:

I SPEAK MY TRUTH AND COMMUNICATE WITH EASE

Repeat however many times feels good for you - I usually do about 3 times.

Try doing this outside in Nature to really add another dimension.

WHY would you do it - because connecting to the chakra in this way can help balance the emotions and energies connected to it - first step to balance and harmony!

YOUR WORD IS YOUR WAND !

This chakra is the sorting office/ a bridge between the higher and lower chakras. It holds information from them all -  I think of it like a bridge.

The throat metabolises the chakra energy, just as the thyroid metabolises the body’s energy.

If someone is either ‘as quiet as a mouse’ or just won’t ‘shut up’ – this chakra may need some attention.

Bring balance to the throat by stretching your neck with your fingertips. Do this over the area of the hyoid bone [located at the centre of the chakra]. It is a good idea to occasionally the hyoid bone is not restricted.

If you are the type of person that has a problem saying ‘no’ to people, balance this chakra and it will be easier. We need to say no sometimes to create time for ourselves.

Speaking up, saying what you want to say, or what you mean.

Watch your vocabulary as words can shape your life, so make sure they are positive words.

This chakra helps you walk your talk rather than have to talk your walk.

Sometimes a sore throat can mean there is an emotional issue, an expression issue that needs to be looked at

This chakra also deals with finding a balance in your life.

Communication is not just external, we also need to cultivate a clear, honest inner dialogue too.

This charka is physically different from the others in that it has 7 chambers that run up and down the neck connecting the head to the torso.  These 7 chambers carry the energy of the other chakras in both directions at all times.

Left side chambers are yin and receive energy

Right side chambers are yang and express energy.

While the energies are vertical in the chambers, they also cross over and form figure 8’s – so this is the spaghetti junction of chakras, in continual motion.

TRY THIS ..... stretch out the neck, lengthen those chambers and then trace Figure 8's over them, individually and in it's entirety. Smile and say that affirmation or try this one .....

ALL MY CHAKRAS WORK TOGETHER IN PERFECT HARMONY, MY ENERGY IS STRONG, RESILIENT AS EACH CHAKRA SUPPORTS AND STRENGTHENS THE OTHERS - ALL IS WELL.

Energies from past experiences are often trapped in our chakras and we would benefit from releasing those energies.

This can be done in many ways – since each of the seven chambers of the throat chakra is connected to one of the chakras, the process below, impacts each chakra and helps facilitate release.

The 3 chambers on the left side correspond with the 2nd, 4th, and 6th chakras.

The 3 chambers on the right side correspond with the 1st, 3rd, and 5th chakras.

The energy of the 7th chakra comes through the central chamber.

  • Place both hands on the back of your neck, fingers touching.  Pull forward with pressure until fingers slip off the neck

  • Place hands on sides of face with thumbs beneath the chin and firmly stretch the skin to the sides with the thumbs

  • Do this all the way down the throat- pulling across the chambers with each stretch

  • Finish by stretching in the other direction up to jaw and down to breastbone -  the whole idea is to create space for energies to flow through the chambers with ease, imagine it flushing through, getting those old energies moving.

  • Do classic forward head bend, looking over the sides and ear to shoulders.

  • Return head to a comfortable resting position and tune into yourself

What springs to mind?

Does something come up from a deep space within, that you need to release?

Let it come out on your breath: open your mouth and carry them out on an ‘hah’ sound, you may even visualise them leaving.

Stretch the chambers again and end by figure 8’ing the entire area, as described above.
